Noveto Systems is the developer of SoundBeaming, a humanmachine vocal interface that enables sound-emitting devices such as laptops, smartphones, and TVs to transmit sound beams to the users ears only. The solution relies on ultrasonic waves and beamforming to place sound just outside the ears. The waves are generated using proprietary, Noveto-developed DSP algorithms and pushed into the air via a custom-designed transducer array. A 3D sensing module built into the hardware locates and tracks the position of the users ears in real time, at which point the ultrasonic waves converge into small pockets of sound just outside the ears. The sound can then be heard again as normal acoustic waves without disturbing others.
