Nanotechnology Lubricants and Coatings
NanoMaterials produces commercially viable inorganic, multilayered nanofullerenes and nanotubes based on patented platform technology developed at the Weizmann Institute of Science. The company's tungsten disulfide-based nanomaterials have opened up new possibilities for developing extreme performance lubricants, coatings, and polymer composites. The composition and morphology of the company's nanomaterials create a mechanism of friction-induced tribofilm release. The exfoliated nanoparticles attach to working surfaces, fill in wear crevices, and coat working surfaces with a continuous super-lubrication layer. This "surface reconditioning" effect has been instrumental in the development of NanoMaterials' award-winning NanoLub family of Extreme Pressure, Anti-Wear, and Anti-Friction lubrication additives. In August 2013, NanoMaterials was acquired by US-based Nanotech Industrial Solutions Inc.
