iCollect is a platform that allows everyone to contribute to the wildlife research community simply by using their smartphones, tablets, or cameras to take pictures and movies of life on Earth. The company's goal is to equip the research community with a modern tool the wisdom of the crowd in order to give them access to unlimited information sources for scientific research, monitoring, conservation, education, environment preservation, and the greater good. The GPS capability of most modern devices allows GPS data to be recorded with the users pictures and movies. This collected visual data is then processed by advanced image-processing algorithms to sort, filter, and improve it before being further processedby people. The platform provides standard data interfaces as well as a suite of tools for research.
