HDH Medical develops BYFix, a line of vascular anastomotic devices with specialized delivery instruments, providing sutureless anastomosis of large blood vessels for laparascopic and open surgery. BYFix can be used as asurgical treatment option for aortic aneurysms, arterial occlusions, and traumas.
BYFix mechanically connects any standard vascular graft to the patient's blood vessel, allowing one-way movement to secure reliable and hermetic anastomosis. Sutureless and leak-proof permanent anastomosis is performed in 5-6 minutes, even for major vessels, and in about 15 minutes or less laparoscopically. Complete toolkits are manufactured and include surgical instruments for effective measurement of the blood vessel diameter, fast fixation of the vascular graft to the BYFix device, and secure implantation of the device into the blood vessel.
ByFix technology enables an inexpensive, simple, flexible, minimally invasive (fully laparoscopic) alternative that is applicable to a wide selection of patients, with significant medical and economic benefits over existing open and endovascular techniques.
HDH Medical has demonstrated the safety and efficacy of ByFix devices for abdominal aortic aneurysms, aorto-iliac aneurysms, aortic occlusions, and above-the-knee arterial occlusions in clinical and post-marketing studies.
