Facial Recognition Technology to Locate Missing Persons
Hazilu is a mobile app that uses facial recognition technology to locate individuals who may be disoriented or lost. The solution aims to solve the problem of people who go missing, whether they are seniors with dementia, children who have wandered away from their parents, teens who have intentionally run away, or any other person who is lost and cannot find their loved ones. The app enables family members to upload photos and details about the missing person. Any bystander who might encounter the person can take their picture using a smartphone, and the app will then search the Hazilu database for that person. If the missing person is registered in Hazilu, their emergency contact will appear and can be called directly to reunite them with their loved one.
