Greenlet is a smart grid startup company developingscalable energy control solutions for electric companies. Greenlet's system helps electric companies reduce power during peak days and lets residential and commercial customers get money for power reduction. The deployment model and technology allow small units ("greenlets") to be sent to customers by mail for quick self-deployment. These units monitor and control power forappliances and automatically communicate with Greenlet's central management software, which is managed from the electric company control center. The management software monitors, predicts, and controls power consumption, notifies customers, and managesperformance-based billing. Electric companies can quickly and reliably deploy demand-response programs, without the need to send technicians to the sites.
