About

Using Computational Genomics to Breed New Varieties

Geshem Genomics has developed a computational platform to evaluate plant genomic data and identify traits with agronomic importance. Using the company's computational genomics technology, breeders do not have to wait for plants to mature to observe the traits of new varieties of fruits andvegetables. Based on genomic data taken from leaves at an early development stage, breederscan find out much sooner which plants will have desired trait combination at maturity, and significantly reduce the cost of their trials. Geshem Genomics also hasa cloud application for managing, analyzing, and sharing plant genomic data. The application combines genomic data received from various plant breeders with data from the scientific literature and applies a matching algorithm to identify traits inthe genomic data.
