Jellyfish-based Absorbent Products
Cine'al Ltd has developed a method of converting jellyfish into absorbent consumer products, including diapers, tampons, paper towels, and bandages. The biodegrable, highly-absorbent material that the company derives from jellyfish is called Hydromash. Hydromash takes advantage of jellyfishes natural capacity for both absorbency and durability, as well as their antibacterial and tissue-healing nanoparticles. In addition, unlike typical products made from super-absorbent polymers (SAPs), Hydromash biodegrades in just 30 days.
