About

IoT Technology for Safeguarding Children

Blueguard was founded in 2018 with the sole mission of leveraging technology to save childrens lives. The company develops IoT technology to assist parents, guardians, and communities in better safeguarding children. The companys line of connect and protect applications are designed to prevent infants from being forgotten in hot cars, children from getting lost in nature or in crowded public spaces, and more. The Blueguard Bluetooth buckle device communicates with the drivers phone, alerting the driver when the phone is moved too far away from the sensor, signaling that the child has been left in the car unattended. A back end system tracks all activities and initiates the alerts. If the driver fails to respond, the system sends an alert with the visual location of the car with the child in it to a second circle of guardians listed in the app. If the alert persists, the community in the surrounding area is alerted, after which first responders are notified. Additional features offered in Blueguards product include event notifications, such as fastened/unfastened while driving; biofeedback measurements, including temperature and other readings; and feedback on driving (e.g. bumps, swerves, quick accelerations, and abrupt decelerations).
