About

Passive Fetal Movement Monitor

BioPad is a noninvasive device that accurately monitors fetal activity in pregnant women from week 24 through birth. The device is intended to augment clinicians' care of expectant mothers by providing a reliable means of monitoring fetal activity at home. The device indicates when the baby's activity is within normal range or whenfetal movement has declined. The expectant mother uses the disposable pads (up to three times a day) for a period of 20 minutes each time, starting in the relevant week of pregnancy. The product is passive and emits no radiation, making it safe for home use. The mother receives a real-time indication regarding thefetus's movements. The device stores the fetal movement history, allowing the mother to browse and watch the movement trend. Thephysician can download the collected data to a desktop directly from the device via USB port, or the mother can send the data via email. The user interface was developed based on usability studies conducted in the United Statesand Israel.
