Beakor develops a sensor platform for cycling that promotes road safety and provides information to riders. The platform equips the bike with signaling capabilities to make cyclists' behavior more predictable for other vehicles.
The company's platform consists of front and rear blinkers, projectors, and cameras, as well as an accelerometer, lights, and a horn, all linked with the Beakor smartphone app. The rider can initiate turn signals and project riding indications onto the road in front of and behind the bike. The accelerometer intensifies the red rear light to indicate to drivers that the rider is slowing down. A front and rear camera are displayed on the rider's smartphone, mounted to the handlebars so that riders can see what's behind them. The app also tracks location and other riding metrics, reports calories burned, and connects with social media applications.
