About

Trans-septal Left Atrial Appendage Closure Device

Append Medical has developed a minimally invasive implantable device designed to reduce stroke risk in patients suffering from atrial fibrillation. The Append Medical system is designed to prevent blood clot leakage by achieving complete LAA closure thus reducing the risk of stroke in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation. Its unique design may allow it to mitigate device-related thromboembolism risk by leaving minimal foreign material at the closure site.

The Left Atrial Appendage exclusion technology was invented by Dr. Leonid Sternik and developed at Sheba Medical Center, further licensed by Append Medical. The company is a portfolio company of MEDX Xelerator.
