Algalo Industries has developed an innovative process for growing algae that reduces production costs while achieving faster growth rates. The company has successfully grown nannochloropsis sp., isochrysis sp., porphyridium sp., spirulina sp., and chlorella sp., and is now focusing on cultivating haematococcus pluvialis for its astaxanthin content. Astaxanthin pigment is the most potent antioxidant known in nature, and has been scientifically proven to be more effective than any other carotenoid. Algalos patented Flat Panel Bioreactors (PBR) are microalgae growing facilities that address the setbacks of conventional growth methods. The PBRs offer low setup costs and scalable setup; low maintenance and operating costs; a wider range of microalgae; and efficient production of haematococcus pluvialis, resulting in a higher concentration of astaxanthin. Frutarom holds 50% of the shares in Algalo Industries and has the exclusive worldwide marketing rights for Algalo products.
