Airfield Runway Barrier
Airvrix has developed the F-Blocker, a barrier that decreases foreign object damage (FOD) on airport runways. Instead of relying on debris detection, the Airvrix solution prevents most foreign objects from ever reaching the runway. The F-Blocker sits on the shoulders of the runway and is designed to keep the paved track free of litter and other foreign objects. It allows for uninterrupted regular cleaning of the runway and integrates with all other airfield operations and safety procedures. An Israeli Air Force assessment prior to installation of the F-Blocker estimated at least a 30% reduction in FOD; results after installation far exceeded the estimate, demonstrating an 80% reduction in FOD and increasing both safety levels and the operational availability of aircraft.
